Yuan-Ron Ma, who received his Ph.D. degree in physics and astronomy from the University of Nottingham, England, is currently Vice President and Chair Professor, Fo Guang University (FGU) and Distinguished Professor, Department of Physics, National Dong Hwa University (NDHU), Taiwan. This is because he is on secondment from NDHU to FGU. He experienced many administrative positions, such as Vice President for Administration, Dean for the Office of International Affairs (OIA), Acting Dean for the College of Science & Engineering, Head for the Department of Physics and son on at NDHU. In his administrative roles, he oversaw strategic alliances, global academic cooperation, international student recruitment, world university rankings, sustainability development and so on.

Now he also serves as editors or editorial board members for Chinese Journal of Physics (Elsevier), Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group), Sensors (MDPI) and Nanomaterials (MDPI), respectively. His research interests contain synthesis of 1D and 2D materials, nanotechnology, and quantum technology. He has edited about few hundred manuscripts for Scientific Reports, Chinese Journal of Physics, Nanomaterials and Sensors and reviewed more than 500 papers for about 100 SCI journals. His authoring 191 SCI articles include Physical Review Letter, Solar Energy Materials & solar Cells, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Materials, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, Nano Energy, Applied Physics Letter, Applied Materials Today, Materials Today Physics and so on. His 191 SCI articles have been cited more 8661 times and his H-index is 62. Hence, he has been nominated as Fellows of International Advanced Materials (IAAM) and Vebleo.
